A local business owner says her business has surged after Khloe Kardashian gave her a shout out on social media.

Earlier this week, the infamous Kardashian clan trotted all over downtown Cleveland. They were in town filming for their hit reality television series, « Keeping Up with the Kardashians. »

Khloe Kardashian, who is dating Cleveland Cavaliers center, Tristan Thompson, has made numerous trips to Cleveland and shared her visits on social media.

So are the visits having any impact on the local economy?

Melissa Miller is the owner of Pink Gorilla Balloons in Bedford. Miller said she got an unexpected call from Khloe’s assistant asking for help to plan Thompson’s birthday party in March.

« They wanted to start talking about ideas, she had a lot of ideas, » said Miller.

Miller said Khloe was very involved and a meticulous planner.

“She wanted clear and white and gold balloons with tinsel and she wanted a million of them covering their whole basement where the party would be. She really wanted it to be perfect and special, and so we worked with her to make sure it was and they were extremely happy, » said Miller.

Khloe Kardashian ordered hundreds of gold balloons for Tristan Thompson’s birthday party

Miller told me her business boomed after Khloe thanked Pink Gorilla on her snap chat account.

« Any now everybody wants the same thing, balloons with ribbon hanging from the ceiling, » said Miller.

Two weeks ago Khloe called again. This time it was for get well soon balloons after Thompson’s injury sidelined him.

“It was huge life sized iron man balloon. We delivered them to his house they were there waiting for him with a special note from her, » said Miller.

Miller said she could’ve never imagined an opportunity like this, but hate ‘em or love ‘em she thinks the Kardashians have an impact.

“It really does work, it’s incredible, she has an influence on people, » said Miller
